In Canada, it is planned to re-open a casino

Casinos in Niagara Falls may reopen in Phase 3 of the Ontario reopening due to Covid-19 countermeasures, but uncertainty remains over capacity limits.

Phase 2 of the re-opening in Ontario due to Covid-19 countermeasures allows gambling establishments to open, but two Niagara Falls casinos decided to remain closed due to established capacity restrictions.

The” Opening Our Province Framework ” in Ontario, developed back in July 2020, allowed casinos, bingo halls and gaming facilities to reopen in Stage 2, but with a limit of 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors, not including staff.

The limit has since been increased to 25 percent internally, but it is not yet clear how much capacity will be allowed when the province moves to Phase 3, which is expected later this month. Both casinos at Niagara Falls have been closed for 16 consecutive months.
